Visitor Center

A new information hub in Mine City and Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau

The Miné-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark Center “Karstar” is a tourist information center that shares information about the geopark with visitors. There is a café and a free resting area, as well as large windows from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the great nature of Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau. The name “Karstar” is a combination of “karst” and “star,” and represents our hope that the Geopark Center will serve as a landmark that guides visitors to the geopark, just like the first star of the evening that shines over the Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau.

Karstar offers a breathtaking, spectacular panoramic view of Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau!

The center not only serves as a tourist information center, but also provides an extensive space where you can relax while enjoying a wonderful view of Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau.

There is a café in the building, and visitors are also welcome to use the space as a free resting area.
Free Wi-Fi is available within the building.

The most popular items at our café are Shūhō pear ice cream, Shūhō pear castella cake, homemade sherbet,Akiyoshidai frappe and plateau beef burger.
